Health and Welfare Benefits

Of all the areas that have changed dramatically in a relatively short time, health and welfare benefits have changed the most. (Just so we’re on the same page, we mean medical, dental, pharmacy plans, life, disability, long term care, etc..) Gone are the days of straightforward options, little to no rate increases and where renewals can happen a month in advance based on a simple spreadsheet. Enter the time of alternative funding options, employee and employer contribution sharing, provider network disruptions, and wellness programs. How can anyone keep up on this, much less be an expert? The reality is that this is becoming an increasingly important piece of a company’s budget and deserves an increasing level of attention and scrutiny.

We understand. In fact, we can sympathize. See, we spend hours pouring over the books, researching the latest trends. We know that while there will be rate increases, they can be managed through good plan design and a good relationship with your benefit consultant. We believe in a service strategy that checks on you every month to see how things are going—not just at renewal time.

We work with firms ranging from those that have a handful of employees to some of the largest companies in the Northwest. And we have the same philosophy for every client: a long term relationship with us will result in a better benefits plan with fewer what ifs.
