Employers play a key role in protecting employees' health and safety. Employers will likely experience employee absences and changes in business patterns with the onset of the H1N1 Influenza Virus (Swine Flu). Proper planning will allow
employers to better protect their employees and lessen the impact of a pandemic on society and the economy. As stated in the President's National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza, all stakeholders must plan and be prepared.
It is important that employers be proactive with employees and take the threat of a H1N1 Influenza Virus very seriously. All employers should review their policies to ensure that they have a pandemic disaster contingency plan in place.
